Paço de Arcos

A historical building gets a new life.

In Paço de Arcos a fisherman village in the outskirts of Lisboa with an outstanding location by the river this renovation consists in a mix use program with a focus on housing. The building was collapsing and was in need of a surgical and urgent intervention.

Located at the entrance to Vila de Paço de Arcos, this building has an added responsibility to maintain the architectural unity and contribute to a conscious rehabilitation. All rehabilitation projects are different, the projects are somewhat mutable and keeping the thread running from beginning to end is the biggest challenge.
